Inspiring students. Building confidence. Achieving success.
I am an experienced English educator with 19+ years of teaching experience across the UK and internationally, combining extensive classroom, leadership and examination experience.
I have worked as a Head of English, Deputy Head of English and Senior English Examiner, alongside my work as a private tutor. I have taught English and Psychology across secondary education and supported students of a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.
With a BA, PGCE and MA, my approach combines strong subject knowledge with a clear understanding of what students need to make meaningful progress. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, develop their skills and achieve their full potential in English.

Different learning needs
I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent students in both mainstream and specialist settings, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and additional learning needs. Through teaching, tutoring, and collaboration with SEN professionals, I have developed a strong understanding of how to adapt learning to suit each individual. My approach is structured, responsive, and tailored—using clear routines, step-by-step guidance, and visual support to reduce cognitive overload and build confidence. I work closely with SEN teams to embed effective strategies and ensure consistency, while also prioritising students’ emotional wellbeing. Ultimately, I aim to create a supportive, engaging environment where every learner feels understood and empowered to succeed.
